Alison Frith's Inspirational Journey

Career Path: Waitress > Contract Catering > Started Company Artizian

“Artizian’s motto is Eat...Work...Enjoy...Everyday"

My Story: After many years in contract catering (a sector I chose because of the sociable working hours) I decided to take control of my own destiny by establishing Artizian. I didn’t ever doubt what I was doing and still believe I did the right thing in realising my own dreams. My work allows me to use so many different skills: communicating, managing people, setting goals, creating, negotiating, presenting, analysing, accounting, reporting, tasting food and always learning how we as a company can do things better because it is important to make new mistakes rather than repeat old mistakes.
People are essential which is why a huge focus is placed on training – not just essential skills but training that will help individuals develop and grow on a personal as well as a career level, keeping everybody motivated. I instil passion and belief in everything I do, determination and never being afraid to ask – which is a strength not a weakness.

Managing Director - Artizian

“If you love what you are doing then work becomes something you really look forward to, and as you spend on average 75% of your time working it is so important that you enjoy what you spend most of your life doing! If you really want something then believe in it, focus on it and you will successfully achieve whatever you set out to do – but once doubt creeps in, the chances of success are far less."

The Fun Stuff:

“I like watching Tennis and support Rugby – Wales of course! I enjoy scuba diving in tropical places – I am definitely a fair weather diver!"
