“Both maze and Jason’s recipes have appeared widely in magazines and newspapers, and he demonstrates regularly on food shows in the UK and abroad as well as on television shows such as the hit series ‘Saturday Kitchen’ on BBC1"
My Story: Jason Atherton was the first British chef to complete a stage at Spain’s famous El Bulli restaurant. Having worked under Pierre Koffman, Nico Ladenis and Gordon Ramsay as Executive Chef at Verre in Dubai, maze marks an exciting opportunity in Jason’s career to take centre stage.
He offers a daily changing menu of market specials comprising six starters, main course and dessert options. In addition to the market menu, there is a wide variety of tasting dishes ranging in price from £3-£11. Many of these dishes are cooked on a charcoal robata grill, wood oven or on the plancha. Jason also brings the relatively unfamiliar method of line cooking to his kitchen: a process favoured in many top American kitchens.
In addition to winning a Michelin star, the past 4 years have seen maze sweep the boards to win an unprecedented number of awards in its first year of opening including Best New Restaurant at the Time Out Eating and Drinking Awards 2005, Restaurant of the Year, Newcomer of the Year and Chef of the Year at the Harpers and Queen Restaurant Awards, Best Kitchen at the Tatler Restaurant Awards 2005 and Square Meal’s BMW Restaurant of the Year.
In April 2008 maze was named Best Breakthrough Restaurant at the S.Pellegrino World’s 50 Best Restaurant Awards organised by Restaurant Magazine.
