“The Naked Chef

Jamie Oliver's Inspirational Journey

Career Path: Helped in Parents Restaurant > Left school (age 16) > Catering College > On the job training > The Naked Chef

“My programmes have now been broadcast in over 50 countries and my books translated into 26 different languages"

My Story: I took an early interest in food, my parents run their own highly respected pub/restaurant and was frequently found helping out in the kitchens. My fascination for food continued to grow and at 16 I left school and completed my training at Westminster Catering College.  After spending some time working in France, followed by Antonio Carluccio’s Neal Street Restaurant, London I joined the acclaimed River Café where I worked for three and a half years alongside Rose Gray and Ruth Rogers. I was then in a television documentary about the River Café. Soon after the documentary was aired, I was offered my own television show and The Naked Chef was born.
