In May 2006, we won the bid to host the 41st WorldSkills Competition in London in October 2011. Beating off fierce competition from Australia and Sweden, the UK vowed to host the most exciting, interactive and inspiring skills competition that the world had ever seen.

WorldSkills London 2011 will bring together young people from up to 60 nations to compete in 40 vocational skills ranging from hairdressing to landscape gardening and autobody repair to IT competitions.

The 4 day event will be held at ExCeL exhibition and conference centre in London’s vibrant docklands. Visitors to the Event will be encouraged to ‘have a go’ and try the trades of their choice with lots of people on hand for advice on future career options and opportunities. So if you’ve always wanted to try your hand at hairdressing, see yourself as a the master of the kitchen or just want to show your support to Team UK, WorldSkills London 2011 could be just what you’ve been looking for.

WorldSkills London 2011, will reach the hearts, hands and minds of 250,000 people across the UK.
